Allergist/immunologists
These are physicians trained on how to manage asthma, allergies, and immunologic disorders. This training can be gotten from medical schools and in most teaching hospitals in Nigeria.
After graduating from medical school or other related schools; the physician is expected to proceed for housemanship in a teaching hospital where he or she is expected to learn how to put into practice what was learned.
Immune system deficiency
Immune deficiency is a situation where the body soldiers that fight against diseases is compromised. This situation makes the sufferer prone to diseases and bacterial infections. One suffering from immune system deficiency lacks the ability to defend the body from external attacks from bacteria.
How Allergists work
Allergists employ different approaches in resolving issues pertaining immune system disorder.
They, first of all, ascertain one’s medical history to enable them to know when the patient started exhibiting signs of an immune disorder.
After that, the allergist will physically examine the patient and also perform specific breathing examination.

What causes allergies/immunology
Allergies are caused as a result of multiple reactions that commences at the same time in the body system; most allergies are hereditary like asthma but not in all cases, and some are not.
Allergic reactions are caused when anti bodies travel to the cell that releases chemicals generating allergic reactions.
Body immune systems determine how the body fights for itself. If you are allergic to a particular substance, your immune system detects it and reacts automatically to it.

Asthma
Asthma is a chronic disease that affects the lungs and the breathing airways.
Firstly, it makes the sufferer to be having difficulty in breathing. Furthermore, it causes frequent coughing; which exposes the patient to constant chest pain.
To resolve this health challenge, an allergist should conduct breathing test to determine the cause of asthma. Working with the directives of an allergist will help patients to control asthmatic attack.
Allergic Rhinitis
This type can occur during a particular season; however, sometimes it happens occasionally.
An example of seasonal allergic rhinitis is hay fever which occurs during the rainy season.
It no doubt comes with sneezing, running nose, itching and watery eyes and nose and many others.
There are still very many other allergic diseases which affects 1/20 person, not only in Nigeria but in other parts of the world too.
Immune system disorder can manifest itself in various kinds of problem such as pneumonia, bacterial infections, bronchitis and many others and as was mentioned earlier can also be inherited at birth; such case if timely discovered can easily be corrected.
Allergies can also come from what we eat, what we drink and any other substance which might come in contact with the skin. Though in most cases in Nigeria, it is generally viewed and known as a skin reaction and those who have failed to understand the reason for this tends to treat themselves with counter prescriptions.
But it is wise to visits a doctor who might refer you to an allergist for proper treatment to avoid complicating your health issues.
