Yale African Peace and Development Conference is an annual event for Africans in the diaspora that seeks to ignite passion among students and youth from across the globe at large.
The event normally holds around the month of April at African American Cultural Center but the date and venue for the upcoming edition are yet to be announced.
The conference will serve as a platform for participants to discuss issues and topics such as could a climate scientist, an artist, and a businessperson work together to eradicate climate change.
The summit will also address other topics which include identity, democracy, business & technology, sustainability, criminalization of homosexuality in various African countries, issues of ethnic conflict, and the prevalence of religion-based terrorism in several countries.
The Yale Undergraduate Association for African Peace and Development (YAAPD) will bring a passion for conflict resolution, peace, and development in Africa and the African diaspora.
It will also explore the intersections between various institutions, nations, and cultural resolutions.
YAAPD will feature together many scholars, professionals, and activists who are integral in the pursuit of systematic advancement and development and also enable any attendee to learn from people doing work on the continent.
They will consider constructive ways that various institutions, nations, and people can work together in order to confront various difficulties facing African people in innovative and meaningful ways.
It will also develop networks among students and professionals across a spectrum of fields and interests with the aim of promoting peace and development in Africa and the African diaspora.
