The 8th edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is expected to start from 8th to 11th December 2022 and is organized by the African Union. However, the 2022 host city and country will be announced on 4th November 2022.
The voting portal for songs and videos is open and will be in progress till December 10th for all African groups and individuals that are fully into music.
The aim of the event show is to promote and improve the culture and heritage of Africans through music.
The event will be broadcasted in over 80 countries and aired on 109 TV stations around the globe.
It will host more than 44 countries in Africa and will feature a series of conferences, summits, music festival models, exhibitions by partners, concerts by African artists, diplomats/VIP sections, awards, and more.
Before the main day of the event, all the groups from various parts of Africa that showed interest will be screened, the best will be chosen to represent each of the 5 African regions.
All Africa Music Award is an annual awards event. The award event was initiated by the International Committee, AFRIMA in partnership with the African Union to encourage, honor, and celebrate musical talents, works and celebrities around the African continent while boosting the African cultural heritage.
The event is been used to celebrate African musical heritage as well as build professional capacity and network within the continent's music and creative industries.
Nigeria emerged as the winner to run three hosts from 2014 to 2016. They anchored four editions of the event, starting from 2014 - 2016.
The event has 5 regional directors and 54 country directors who help in identifying the upcoming artists as well as established talent that is worth rewarding.
The events also celebrate unrecorded artists, providing an avenue for them to showcase their talent to the world.
AFRIMA is the biggest music awards show in Africa with the involvement of over 700 artists across the continent.
The music show will be beamed live to millions of African music lovers across the globe through a network of over 80 broadcasts.
The music event will be screened live on DStv channel 196 to subscribers and on GOtv Max and GOtv Plus channel 29. DStv users can also stream the events live using the DStv Now app on their mobile devices.
The past AFRIMA held the last year 2021 had music stars, dignitaries, and music lovers across the continent in attendance.
