The Miss Nigeria in America (MNIA) Beauty Pageant was founded in 2014 by a lady by name ChiChi Dike-Emeson a graduate of Howard University who believed that women if given the necessary assistance can be independent.
Chichi Emeson believes that this beauty pageant can to a reasonable extent help in discovering hidden talents among young Nigeria women in the United States of America.
The beauty pageant empowers women to be bold and face the challenges of everyday life without depending on men for survival.
This competition is based not only on beauty but also on each contestant’s talent and intelligence; it is aimed at displaying the rich cultural heritage of every state in Nigeria.
The contestants are judged on their native Nigerian wear, swimsuit, talent, evening gown and interview. Each contestant is scored by the sitting panel of judges and the one with the highest score is declared the winner.
