The Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) is the largest international exhibition in West Africa. The exhibition which is a 10-day event starts typically on the first Friday in November of every year, since 1981.
The 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair is expected to start from 1st to 10th November 2024, at the Main Bowl of the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, Nigeria from 8am to 6pm everyday.
The 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair will feature both Nigerian and foreign exhibitors of different sectors such as;
Agriculture and Agro allied; which includes irrigation, fishing, crop production and seed multiplication, primary food preservation and processing.
Plants and Equipments; which includes metal working equipment, consumer goods production plants and machinery, machine tools, material handling & storage equipment, woodworking machinery and maintenance equipment.
Oil and Gas; which includes refining and marketing, exploration, production, petro-chemical products e.g fertilizers, resins, plastics and carbon black.
Mining and Energy; which includes electrical equipment, mining equipment, solar, hyro & renewable energy, power generation and distribution, etc.
Security and Safety Equipment; which includes computers and accessories, communication equipment, electronics, telephones, mobile phones/smart phones, software development, phone accessories, business equipment, business and accounting machines and more.
Automobile and Allied products; which includes passenger vehicles, automotive component and spare parts, heavy duty trucks and vehicles, aircraft, airport equipment, railway and port engineering components and others.
ICT & Telecommunications; which includes electronics, telephones, communication equipment, internet and fax, mobile phones, smart phones, computer and accessories.
The trade fair and shows event is a unique one that provides individuals, entrepreneurs, business companies and industries and brings into focus the full potentials and business opportunities existing in Nigeria.
The event will accommodate various Nigeria businesses, manufacturers, exporters and importation, business organisation and lots more. It will also provide opportunities for various trade groups and professionals to present new products and new ideas.
It will hold this year from November, 2024 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island, Nigeria. Foreign visitors are welcomed and offered the privilege of visiting places of interest in the country.
The Lagos International Trade Fair started in the year 1977, where the event took place at Eko Hotels and Suites, Just after it was completed.
The exhibition is been arranged and organised every year by the Trade Promotion Board and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI); the oldest chamber of commerce in Nigeria.
It is believed to be the biggest business market in the Ecowas sub-region as it engages investors from other parts of the world. It is a 10-day annual fair that starts every first Friday of November.
The fair is one of the great attractions of Lagos's commercial yearly activities. Since it commenced, the event has fully developed to become the largest trade show in sub-Saharan Africa and has drawn both national and international entrepreneurs from more than 1600 companies over the whole world.
The fair which is planned with the aid and cooperation of the state and federal governments covers all parts of economic and business activities in Nigeria.
It offers a special exposition for suppliers, manufacturers, buyers, and users of extensive goods and services including opportunities for investment and trade promotions.
The fair was formally held at the Lagos trade fair at Badagry Expressway, Ojo before it was relocated to Tafawa Balewa Square.
The exhibition hall for the Lagos International Trade Fair is hexagonal in shape covered with space roof and shading boards, which forms a new trend in architectural change of its time over the years.
The organizations associated with the fair include the following; National directorate of employment, foreign organisations, Nigerian business organisations and governments, diplomatic missions, ECOWAS member states, state and federal government-owned companies, parastatals, agencies, education institutions, and research.
Also, Nigerian celebrities are designated as goodwill Ambassadors as a segment of measures to make the program more enticing and companies are also allowed to source for sponsorship through the side attractions.
The Lagos International trade fair is unique because it provides a great opportunity for exhibitors to showcase their products, inventions, services, and innovations to both Nigerian and foreign participants.
It also provides an avenue for various sectors and professional to advertise their new products and ideas. Also, the foreign visitor uses the privilege to visit places of interest in the country through our tourism and hospitality programme.
