Akwa Ibom State Local Government Areas

lnl Local Government Area is one of the serving LGA in Akwa-lbom state sited in the town of Odoro lkpe under Akwa-lbom north-west zone of the state consisting the districts of Usuk Ukwok, Odoro Ukwok, lwerre, ltu Mbanuso, lkpe and lkono North.

Abak LGA has its headquarters in town of Abak with districts of Abak Urban, Afang Obong, Midim, Otoro and Ediene each consisting of villages forming the LGA as Abak is also noted for its rich cultural heritage of traditional dances like Ekpo.

Eastern Obolo Local Government Area is one of the thirty one serving local government councils in the state located in the town of Okoroete,also under Akwa-lbom south senatorial district with lko and Okoro Ete and other 10 villages forming the LGA.

Eket Local Government Area is located in the town of Eket which is under Akwa-lbom south senatorial zone of the state and comprises of the district of Eket Central, Eket Urban and Okon having many villages respectively making up the local government area.

Esit Eket Local Government Area adminstrative headquarters is in the town of Uquo and is in Akwa-lbom south senatorial zone of the state the LGA is made up of Uquo, Ekebi, Ekpene Obo,Assan lkpa, Akwata, Edor, Ebighi Akpantong and Ebe Ekpi.

Essien Udim LGA is sited in Afaha lko Ebak serving as one of the thirty one existing LG councils in the state thus falling under the Akwa-lbom north-west senatorial zone of the state, following districts of Adiasim, Ikpe Ennang, Okon Clan, Odoro lkot etc.

Etim Ekpo LGA is located in the town of Utu Etim Ekpo as one of the existing thirty one local government councils of the state consisting of Uruk, Ikono, Utu, Etim and Obong making up the LGA under Akwa-lbom north-west senatorial district

Etinan Local Government Area is headquaterd in the town of Etinan with the district of Etinan Urbans, Northen lman and Southern lman respectively which contains other villages making up the LGA.

Ibesikpo Asutan LGA is sited in the town of Nung Udoe in Ibesikpo in Akwa-lbom north-east senatorial zone of the state & comprises of districts of Ibesikpo and Asutan Ekpe.

lbeno Local Government Area is located in the town of Ukpenekang as one of the existing local government councils in the state is under the Akwa-lbom south senatorial zone opf the state which consists of lkini, Obob, Uke & Ekpe forming the LGA.

lbiono lbom Local Government Area is one of the existing thirty one LG councils located in the town of Oko-lta falling under the Akwa-lbom north-east senatorial zone of the state, made up of eastern lbiono, southern lbiono, western lbiono and lkanya.

lka Local Government Area is sited in the town of Urua lnyang under Akwa-lbom north-west senatorial zone of the state which comprises of Achan lka, Odoro, lto and Urban under the administration of LGA.

lkono Local Government Area is one of the thirty-one serving LGA located in lbiaku Ntok Okpo, under Akwa-lbom north-west senatorial zone of the state, comprising the villages of lltak Ediene, lkono Middle, lkono South, Nkwost, Ndoya, ldama etc.

lkot Abasi LGA counts as one of the thirty-one existing councils of the state sited in lkot Abasi town under Akwa-lbom south senatorial zone comprising of Ukpom Okom, lkpa Nung Asang, Ukpum, Ete, Edemaya and lkpa Ebkwe containing other villages.

lkot Epene Local Government Area has its adminstrative headquarters in the town of lkot Ekpene a commercial city of its own in Akwa-lbom north-west senatorial zone containing Amanyan and Ikot Ekpene Urban making up the LGA.

ltu Local Government Area is located in ltu town under the Akwa-lbom north-east zone of the state comprising the districts of Ayadehe, East Itam, Itu, Mbiabo, Oku and Itam as each consists of numerous villages forming the LGA.

Mbo Local Government Area is one of the thirty one LGAs with its headquarters in Enwang town under Akwa-lbom south zone made up of districts of Afaha Okpo, Effiat, Ikpa Ibom, lkpo Ikono, lbiaku and Ukwong.

Mkpat Enin Local Government Area is one of the thirty-one LGAs stationed in the town of Mpat Enin under Akwa-lbom south zone consisting districts of Ukpum Minya, lkpa Nkono, lkpa lbono, and lbiaku each comprising of villages making up the LGA.

Nsit Atai Local Government Area exists as one of the thirty-one LGAs in the state sited in the town of Odot under the Akwa-lbom north-east which is made up Ndon Ikot Itie-Udung and Eastern Nsit.

Nsit lbom Local Government Area functions as one of those the existing thirty-one LGAs located in the town of Afaha Offiong under the Akwa-lbom north-east zone consisting the districts of Mbaiso and Asang.

Nsit Ubium LGA is as one of the LGAs in the state located in lkot Edibon town under Akwa-lbom north-east zone with comprising Asang clan, Ubium north, Ubium south, ltreto clan, Ndiya, lba Akpan & lbiakpan/Obotim districts containing other villages.

Obot Akara Local Government Area is headquartered in the town of Nto Edino, which is made up districts namely Obot Akara, Nto Edino and lkot Abia each consisting of many villages making up the LGA under north-west.

Okobo Local Government Area which is amongst the serving thirty-one councils in the state is located in the town of Okoedi, having the districts of Atabong, Ebughu, Eta, Ibighi, Odu, Okiuso and Ukwong.

Onna Local Government Area is one one of the serving thirty-one LGAs i the state with its admindtrative capital in Abat town under Akwa-lbom south zone of the state comprising of Awa Clan, Iquita,Nung Ndem Clan and Oniong Clan.

Oron Local Government Area is in the town of Oron under Akwa-lbom south senatorial zone in the state made up of the primary districts of Oron Urban namely Afaha Okpo, Eyo Abasi, Eyotong and Uya Oron.

Oruk Anam Local Government Area counts as one of the thirty-one LGAs located in the town of lkot lbritam under Akwa-lbom north-west zone, consisting of Abak /Midim, Ekparakwa, Ibesit Nung Ikot, lnen, Ndot, Nung Ita, Obio Akpa and Ibesit Nung Ikot.

Udung Uko Local Government Area Is a LGA in the state with its administrative headquarters in the town of Uyofun under Akwa-lbom south senatorial zone of the state, comprising the districts of Udung Uko, Afaha Okpo, Okpo Clan, Mbodung and Ubodung Clan.

Ukanafun LGA exists as one of the the serving thirty-one LGAs in the state headquartered in lkot Akpa Nkuk town under Akwa-lbom north-west zone also known as lkot-Ekpene comprising of Northern Afaha, Northern Ukanafun, Southern Afaha & Southern Ukanafun.

Uruan Local Government Area is a local government area in the state located in the town of ldu under Akwa-lbom north-west zone of the state which consists the districts of Uruan Central, Southern Uruan and Northen Uruan.

Urue-Offong/Oruko LGA is among the serving 31 LGAs in the state with its headquarters in the town of Urue Offiong in Akwa-lbom south senatorial zone of the state consisting the districts of Afaha, Egughu, Ibighi, Okiuso, Ubodong and Ukwong.

Uyo Local Government Area both serves as the capital of the state and an LGA with its adminstrative headquarters in Uyo under Akwa-lbom north-east senatorial zone made up of Uyo Urban, Oku, Offot, lkono and Etoi districts.
