Local Government Areas
Brasss LGA is one of the 8 existing local government council of the state and is located in Twon-Brass and consists also of Okpoama, Sangana, Odioma, Ewoama, Konsho, and Cape Farmosa forming the local government. Ekeremor LGA has its administrative headquarters in the town of Ekeremor, consisting the districts of Eduwini, Oporomor, Oyiakiri, and Tarakiri containing other villages and clans forming the council. Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA is located in the town of Kaiama, consisting the districts of Asaingbene, Ayibabiri Gbaran-Ama, which has other villages and clans making up the local government area and it falls under Bayelsa Central Senatorial zone of the state. Nembe LGA is one of the existing 8 serving Local Government Areas with the administrative headquarters in Nembe Town which contains the districts of Oluasiri, Okoroma, Ogbolomabiri, Bassambiri, Igbeta-Ewoama, Ikensi, and Mini. Ogbia LGA in Bayelsa State is located in the Town of Ogbia, with the districts of Ogbia, Okodi, Ologi, Obibiri, Kolo, Anyama, Imiringi, Opume, Otakeme, Otuabula, Otuasega and Emeyal in the LGAs & is under Bayelsa East Senatorial District of the State. Sagbama LGA is in the town of Sagbama and consists of the districts of Otoni, Sagbama, Ossiama, Adagbariri, Adoni, Agbere, Asamabiri, Angalabiri, Ebedebiri, Osekwenike, Agoro, Toru Ebeni and Trotani, and the LGA is under Bayelsa West Senatorial District. Southern Ijaw LGA is located in the Town of Oporoma & is under Bayelsa Central Senatorial zone of the state and the Council consists of the districts of Olodiama, Otuan, Ukubie, West Boma, Amassoma, Apoi Central, Boma Central, East Boma, Foropa & Koluama. Yenagoa LGA doubles as the state capital and as well serving as the Local Government Council and consist of the districts of Attissa, Biseni, Gbarain, Okoraia, Zarama, Epie, and Ekpetiama. |
