Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN)

The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty pageant started in 1983, at first it was known as Miss Universe Nigeria, however, three years later, it was renamed the Most Beautiful Girl In Nigeria (MBGN).

The recently concluded edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty pageant which is the 34th edition took place on the 21st of October 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria, with Ada Eme winning as the 2022 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, MBGN.

The upcoming edition will hold by October 2023 in all likelihood, but the committee that is in charge of the contest will publish the date as soon as possible.

It has been since its establishment organized by Silverbird Group and has produced ladies that are well refined and presentable to society, this was seen in the case of the first winner of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria beauty pageant by the name Lynda Chuba who later emerged in Africa.

These positions made her popular to the extent that she was elected a member of the Nigeria National Assembly.

In the year 2001, this beauty pageant industry wrote its name in the book of records when it produced the first and ever Miss World won by a black woman from an African country and by name Agbani Darego, she also made it to the semi-finals of the Miss Universe beauty contest.

In the year 2005 Omowumi Akinnfesi of the same pageantry emerged as Miss Tourism International which was organized in Ukraine, due to the performances of the MBGN contestants.

The Federal Government selected five contestants from the MBGN pageant to represent the country in international competitions in 2007 against the usual practice of selecting from various pageantry organizations.
